I’m just so done with writing this report.

You’re done with it? You’ve finished? 

Neil
I wish. No, the opposite. Lots more to do. 

Feifei
Neil 說(shuō)他“so done with”一份報(bào)告，可是他并不是想表達(dá)“寫(xiě)完了”的意思。So you’re not done yet?

Neil
No, sadly. If you say you’re ‘so done with’ something – it means you are irritated and bored by it! Often it’s a task that you don’t want to do.

Feifei
原來(lái)是這樣，在英語(yǔ)里，當(dāng)我們說(shuō)“so done with”的時(shí)候，并不是說(shuō)“完成了一件事情或任務(wù)”，而是感嘆這件事情特別枯燥、無(wú)聊，讓人厭倦，再也不想干了，就好比漢語(yǔ)里所說(shuō)的“受夠了”。舉個(gè)例子，我可以說(shuō)：“I’m so done with recording with Neil.”。

Ah, that’s kind. I just need to sit down, focus, and write the thing. It’s just boring.

我在做一個(gè)特?zé)o聊的表格。I’m so done with it. 我也受夠了。 

Neil
Tell you what. Let’s work hard all afternoon and then treat ourselves to dinner. 

Feifei
Done! Which means, of course, that I agree to your suggestion.
